I love Okami!!! I beat it several months ago. So much fun! All this wolfie needs to look like Ammy is the red/orange markings. Great experiment. And I like the cross-hatched tree, too. It actually gave me an idea for an illustration.
Oh jeeze, let's see... ya know that classical mythology story where that guy is running after that girl and that other guy helps her out by turning her into a tree? lol I'm sorry, I can't remember any of the names. I just remember learning about it in art history. There was a sculpture version we looked at. I guess we're so experienced with turning animals into fruit and people into vegetables that inevitably turning someone into a tree would seem like a fun idea.
This reminds me of the game Okami. Dunno if you've played it. Great sketch though, I'd love to see this worked into a finished piece.
