Skate!

Screens from my first computer animated film (and by film I mean 11 second short). Demonstrates a modified version of the Bloke 1.0 character riding a skateboard. Besides the character base, everything else was done by myself, including modeling, rigging, animating, and recording audio.

This will be online in a few days on my Vimeo page. I'll link to it once up.

This and that

I am currently working on a few projects at the same time, since I have time on my hands. The top is a page from my sketchbook for the sketchbook project that I'm doing. I urge all of you to join! Last day to sign up is Oct. 31st. The bottom is the last leaf that will be joining a series of leaves that I painted during the summer before my senior year for a client. I hope to have it completely painted by the end of the week. My client decided she wanted one more to balance out the others.

to here knows when

Rust

Sketch for the next painting.

Wanted to further explore decomposing textures.

White Lily

Drawn with a 2h pencil and colored with lightfast prisma colored pencils. This was done while watching 500 Days of Summer and The Pursuit of Happyness. And before that, I was watching the 9/11 documentary. Bed time for me that night (saturday into sunday) was 4:30.

Factory 2

threw some texture on this. still working it up...

preliminary color sketch

A piece that I did in photoshop that was started last night and finished tonight. It may lead to a painting, but I'm not sure if I like it enough. Suggestions?

For My Living Room Wall.

re-hash

Danielle and I are going to take over this blog. Whether it returns to it's "glory days" or not, I could care less. I'm gonna keep posting in here from time to time, and anybody from UHA, SCAD, or wherever is welcome to join. I'll give any feedback/crits too for anyone who asks.

I haven't posted in a while because I've been too busy with the move to Georgia, and teaching myself Maya (which is hard), but here's a speedpaint I did last night.

I'm without internet at my new house, so I won't be updating as much as I'd like to, but once that gets taken care of in a week or so I'll be back on here.

Peace out from Savannah Georgia,

-Doug

Moving On

Open Sketch Book society started out with a bang, and had a good run. The idea was to help us all network with each other and keep updated on what everyone was working on, and hopefully continue to challenge ourselves to keep drawing after college.

If anyone would like to take over the open sketch book and lead challenges send me an email to joinsketchsociety@yahoo.com.

Otherwise, the Open Sketch Book Society will be terminated within the next week or so.

Keep in touch!
