Well... day two of painting and I messed it up. I should have retraced the drawing for a second time, but I winged it and ... the moose doesn't look like a moose anymore. Here's what I've ended up with. I'm bummed out because I was enjoying the colors of this piece. I'll start a new tomorrow... in the mean time I think I'll start a new drawing for another piece.
Yes, I like the colors, too! You could always think of it as a very thorough color study. Remember the color studies at the Rockwell Museum? They looked more like finished pieces. And I think that's what Chuck was trying to get after us about.
