fixed some of the critiques and pushed it further.



Having some difficultly with the hand, as I always do. any suggestions??

  1. Yeah I agree with you on the hand. I can see where it's off but I can't really explain without pencil and paper or pointing. You should definitely take reference. Also do hand studies prior to wrestling with the final one. And if you don't have Stephen Rogers Peck's anatomy book you should DEFINITELY add it to your collection. It's called The Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist. Sketch from that in addition to your own studies. It really does help.

    As for other crit I would say you should punch up the highlights on his hand, and significantly so. Right now the light on his face and fingers are the same, but because the light source is in his hand, even if it's a soft light, is much closer to his hand than his face. It doesn't need to be super high contrast, but there should be an obvious diference.

  3. hand is looking pretty good, but could use some more work (what Alyssa said basically). otherwise keep working it, looking swell!
