An hour and a half "sketch" in Photoshop and ZBrush. Neck makes no sense. Still developing this new technique, gonna be doing a series of character designs in this style (once i can pin down the final style).

Skate!
Screens from my first computer animated film (and by film I mean 11 second short). Demonstrates a modified version of the Bloke 1.0 character riding a skateboard. Besides the character base, everything else was done by myself, including modeling, rigging, animating, and recording audio.
This will be online in a few days on my Vimeo page. I'll link to it once up.

"Living with no Home"
New series- "Living with no home"
First piece:sketch
- Have a bunch of paintings lined up for a new series"living with no home"
- A bunch of gorgeous places I have been and seen in my life ,time from all over the world.
This sketch is from elba a small town in Italy. I envision the painting to have a nice range of blues and purples in the sky.
starting to cut and prep boards today!

nottingham lace
update after working on it, still not done though. Blizzard begins internship applications in november and am trying to get my portfolio as solid as possible before the submissions begin. keeping my fingers crossed : )
This and that
I am currently working on a few projects at the same time, since I have time on my hands. The top is a page from my sketchbook for the sketchbook project that I'm doing. I urge all of you to join! Last day to sign up is Oct. 31st. The bottom is the last leaf that will be joining a series of leaves that I painted during the summer before my senior year for a client. I hope to have it completely painted by the end of the week. My client decided she wanted one more to balance out the others.

Perspective errors ahoy! Going to fully render this one, but still have a ways to go on it...
Taking a break from Maya until classes start monday, but I'll have plenty more 3D work up soon.
Peace out from (way too hot) Savannah,

re-hash
Danielle and I are going to take over this blog. Whether it returns to it's "glory days" or not, I could care less. I'm gonna keep posting in here from time to time, and anybody from UHA, SCAD, or wherever is welcome to join. I'll give any feedback/crits too for anyone who asks.
I haven't posted in a while because I've been too busy with the move to Georgia, and teaching myself Maya (which is hard), but here's a speedpaint I did last night.
I'm without internet at my new house, so I won't be updating as much as I'd like to, but once that gets taken care of in a week or so I'll be back on here.
Peace out from Savannah Georgia,
-Doug

Moving On
Open Sketch Book society started out with a bang, and had a good run. The idea was to help us all network with each other and keep updated on what everyone was working on, and hopefully continue to challenge ourselves to keep drawing after college.
If anyone would like to take over the open sketch book and lead challenges send me an email to joinsketchsociety@yahoo.com.
Otherwise, the Open Sketch Book Society will be terminated within the next week or so.
Keep in touch!
